Since the outbreak of COVID-19 we have been closely monitoring the situation daily and assessing what this means for our young people and staff.

We are taking the advice of the UK Government, the Welsh Assembly Government and the Chief Medical Officer and are taking appropriate precautions. The safety and well-being of the young people and staff will always be our top priority.

We are committed to taking all practical steps to reduce and combat the spread of the virus and keep everyone safe.  This includes:

  • PPE being available for all staff

  • Staff temperatures are taken on entry and young people monitored daily

  • Hand sanitisation points located throughout the hospital with hand wash and rub available.

  • Social distancing of 2 metres remains in place where possible

  • All non-essential visits to and from the hospital have been cancelled with contact being maintained through Skype

  • Appropriate signage detailing the most efficient way to stay safe throughout the hospital

  • Newsletters available for staff outlining the most recent advice and service guidelines

  • The hospital is being regularly deep cleaned to ensure a high standard of hygiene is maintained

  • Our IT department has been working hard to ensure where practical non-ward-based staff can work from home

Please follow the guidelines yourself and help keep everyone safe and reduce the strain on the NHS.
