Hillview Hospital is a Low Secure CAMHS service that provides specialist support for young people with severe and complex mental health conditions aged 13-18 years
We are looking to recruit several Registered Mental Health Nurses to join the Ward Team reporting to the Clinical Lead at Hillview Hospital. Hillview Hospital is the only Low Secure CAMHS unit in Wales. Set in the heart of Ebbw Vale, the service comprises of two wards (a 12-bed admission and treatment ward (Brenin) and a 4-bed transition ward (Ebbw)).
The post holder will be responsible for delivering specialist nursing care and work to professional and regulatory body codes, standards and guidance at all times. They will ensure the correct administration of medication, including injections, and monitor the results of treatment and help young people manage their emotions through de-escalation techniques. They will prepare and maintain patient records and produce care plans and risk assessments whilst working alongside a multi-disciplinary team comprising of staff from Psychiatry, Psychology, Education, Occupational Therapy and Nursing.
The essential requirements for this role are:
At least 2 years post qualification experience
Direct Patient Care and Service
Care and Treatment Plans
Children's Act 1989
Competent in the Care Programme Approach
Desirable skills and experience for this role are:
Evidence of continued professional updating
Knowledge of private sector issues, clinical trends and key nursing issues
Collaborative working in a multi professional environment
6 months experience within an inpatient setting
